In-Game Knowledge Base

s part of Patch 2.0.1, "Before the Storm," an In-Game Knowledge Base has been added to World of Warcraft’s user interface. You can access it by clicking on the red question mark located in your action bar.

What is the In-Game Knowledge Base used for?

Since the launch of World of Warcraft, the developers have made many changes and added much new content. The Customer Support departments have been here since the beginning to help players solve all the issues they came across and improve their game experience.

"Why are all my Enchants gone?" -- "My Character just died and when I release I cannot see the Spirit Healer?" -- "Why do I hear this 'metal clicking' sound?"

We collected answers to these and almost all other imaginable questions in our In-Game Knowledge Base. Use it to get answers really quickly and have more time for playing!

When solving an in-game, technical, or billing issue, most of the problems have been experienced by other players before. More importantly, some of these issues can be solved by players themselves, without any intervention from Customer Support.

From there came the idea that if one could access a database containing all the “usual” issues from various Customer Support departments, and their solutions, players could spend more time playing rather than needing to wait for a Support Agent to answer them. This also means that our Customer Support could focus on issues which require their assistance to resolve and so provide an even better service to our players.

How does it work?

Click on the red question mark located in your action bar to access the Online Knowledge Base (the same icon you’d use to contact a Game Master). This will open a new window inside the game where you will be able to use a search feature to find the articles that may help you to resolve your issue. You can also browse through the different categories (Chat System, Spells & Skills, PvP, etc) to get answers to the most common questions. You can hover your mouse over the different sections of the screenshot below to get more information.

How can I make comments / suggestions?

We are constantly adding new articles to the Knowledge Base to keep it updated, and to be sure you can find solutions to the most recent problems we are aware of.

Nevertheless, players are obviously very informed about the issues they might experience. If you have found or written some useful articles which you think could be used in the Knowledge Base you can let us know about them on the Customer Support Forum.

Does this mean that I cannot send petitions to the Game Masters anymore?

"Thanks for using the Knowledge Base, but remember: I am still there for you!"
No, of course not. Game Masters are still here to help you with problems requiring their assistance. However, before sending a ticket or contacting one of our support teams, we highly recommend that you first check the Knowledge Base to see if your question has already been answered, as you will save time by getting an immediate answer rather than having to wait for a Game Master to respond to your request. You can find out more about the Game Masters here.
