Blizzard Costume Contest Terms
FROM THE 20th OF MAY TO THE 16th OF JUNE

Article 1: The Company Blizzard Entertainment Europe S.A.S, which head office is located in Velizy Villacoublay (78143), 32, avenue de l’Europe and operating under the commercial name of Blizzard is organizing a competition on the following website: www.wow-europe.com, from the 20th of May to the 16th of June 2009 (included).

Article 2: The competition is opened to anyone residing in France, in Belgium, in the United Kingdom, in Luxemburg, in Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Spain, or in Ireland, over the age of majority, except Blizzard's personnel and their family, affiliates or business partners.

Article 3: Entrants automatically accept the terms of this competition and acknowledge the fact that this game being French, the competition is governed by French law.

Article 4: Failure to observe the terms stated here will lead to the nullification of the participation.

Article 5: Only one entry per household will be accepted (same name, same address).

Article 6: Entrants have to connect to the website and sign-in.

Article 7: Entries to the competition will have to be validated and sent online by each entrant before the 16th of June, midnight. The cost of the telephone communication necessary to the entry will be refunded on written request sent to: Blizzard Europe, 32, avenue de l'Europe, Bât Energy 1, 78457 Vélizy-Villacoublay Cedex. The request should legibly bear mention of the competition, the first name, last name and details of the entrant asking for a refund. Communication will be paid back up to €0.50.

Article 8: Aim of the competition
Players have to create and model an original costume taking its design and theme from any Blizzard game. Costumes will be judged on originality, creativity, and complexity of the design. Participants will take a photograph of themselves wearing the costume, as well as a photograph of them in normal clothing. The photographs must be submitted in .JPEG or .JPG format and cannot exceed 2 MB in size per file.

A jury will decide the winners on grounds of creativity, originality, and accuracy to the depiction of the character, class, event, or person the costume is based upon. Winners will be informed individually by e-mail and will be required to give a valid mail address in order to receive their prize.

Article 9: The winners will be awarded the following prizes:
One (1) first prize winner will be awarded a trip for two (2) persons (the Winner and a guest) to 2009 BlizzCon that includes:

  1. round trip coach air fare from the regional airport nearest the winner’s residence to the site of the 2009 BlizzCon;
  2. two (2) nights lodging (double occupancy) at a hotel of Blizzard’s choice, meals and ground transportation, as determined by Blizzard, in its sole discretion, and
  3. accommodation and transportation from the Airport to the Hotel, Hotel to the offices and back to Hotel, and from the Hotel to the Airport on the day of departure.
The approximate retail price of this prize package is estimated at €4,000 (excluding VAT), depending upon the cost of travel for the winner and guest to attend the 2009 BlizzCon. All travel must take place on the dates and times as specified by Blizzard. Winner and guest shall be responsible for obtaining, at their own cost and expense, all the necessary visas, passports, or other travel documents issued by the government of their country of citizenship so that they have the legal capacity to travel to the site of the 2009 BlizzCon. Winner is responsible for any and all other costs and expenses associated with their prize that are not specifically set forth herein, including without limitation the cost of any required travel insurance.

Standard travel restrictions to the US may apply. Please check eligibility requirements at the U.S. Department of State’s Travel site: http://travel.state.gov/. The winner is solely responsible for ensuring eligibility to travel to and within the United States and obtaining any necessary visas.

One (1) first place winner and five (5) second place winners will receive a prize package consisting of: one (1) World of Warcraft® MMO Gaming Mouse from SteelSeries (valued at €89.99, tax included), one (1) copy of a 2010 World of Warcraft Calendar (valued at €29.95, tax included) and one (1) copy of the World of Warcraft: Ashbringer comic series from Panini (in German language only, valued at €12.90, tax included), one (1) World of Warcraft Miniatures Game Core Set Deluxe Edition (valued at €29.99, tax included) and one (1) World of Warcraft Miniatures Game Spoils of War Booster Pack (valued at €12,70,tax included) from Upper Deck, for a total prize package value of €175.53.

Article 10: The winners will be warned within 10 working days. The prizes will be sent to winners via parcel service to the address they give in the form.

Article 11: Resale of the prize is forbidden. No exchange of the prize worth against money, another prize, object or service different from a prize eventually won by an entrant will be accepted.

Article 12: The details of each entrant (name and e-mail address) will be transmitted by the Blizzard Entertainment SAS server, which will process the data. The data will be collected during the online subscription of each user on the www.wow-europe.com website according to the « Informatique et Libertés » law, of the 6th of January 1978 and its later amendments, and according to the European directive number 95/46/CE.

Each entrant grants Blizzard Entertainment SAS permission to use the information he is providing within the framework set by the« Informatique et Libertés » law of the 6th of January 1978. Each entrant benefits from the right to access and modify his personal data.

Article 13: In case of litigation, only tribunals in the country of physical residence of the head office of the organizing company will have jurisdiction.

Article 14: Responsibility
In case of circumstances outside Blizzard Entertainment SAS’s control, in a fortuitous case, or under exceptional circumstances (fire, flood, natural disaster, malevolent intrusion in the IT system, strike, jeopardize of the financial and technical viability of the competition etc.), even in the case of its own responsibility (subject to its good faith), Blizzard Entertainment SAS retains the right to cancel the whole or part of the competition. The present competition will be cancelled in case circumstances outside Blizzard Entertainment SAS’s control, without the entrants or winners being able to claim any form of compensation. Blizzard Entertainment SAS retains the right to exclude entry to the present competition any individual having cheated, deceived, faked or disturbed the operations stated in this terms. Blizzard Entertainment SAS retains the right to sue any individual having cheated, deceived, faked or disturbed the operations stated in this terms, or tried to do so. A winner having disturbed the competition in any of the ways described in the present terms will be rightfully denied the right to claim any prize. Any addition or amendment to these terms will be announced on the Internet. They will be considered appendices to the present terms.
