Who is eligible to try The Burning Crusade 10-day free trial edition?
Anyone who has a current paid subscription or has ever had a paid subscription to World of Warcraft and did not delete his/her registration information can try The Burning Crusade. There is a limit of one free trial per account, however. Also, World of Warcraft “classic” trial accounts are not eligible for the Burning Crusade 10-day free trial.

How does the 10-day time limit work?
The 10-day trial period starts immediately once you activate the free trial in Account Management, and expires after 10 calendar days, whether you play it or not. Since you can only activate this 10-day trial once, please make sure you do so when you are ready to get the most use out of it!

Can I still login to my existing World of Warcraft game-client once I have upgraded?
No, once you have clicked on the 'Confirm' button on the trial page you will only be able to login by using The Burning Crusade game-client for the duration of the trial. For this reason, it is advisable to download The Burning Crusade, or borrow it from a friend, prior to beginning the trial.

Where can I download the game-clients for World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade?
You can download both World of Warcraft classic and The Burning Crusade game-clients here. Please note though that World of Warcraft must be present on your computer prior to installing The Burning Crusade.

What are the system requirements of The Burning Crusade? You can find the full system requirements of The Burning Crusade as well as other information about the expansion on our Burning Crusade FAQ.

How do I upgrade to the full version of The Burning Crusade?
You can upgrade your account to play the Burning Crusade by purchasing a boxed copy of The Burning Crusade: available from most major software retailers for 19,99 € (£14.99).

What content do I have access to during the 10-day free trial?
You can start a new draenei or blood elf character and explore their all-new starting areas. You can also take a high level (58+) pre-existing character through the Dark Portal and get your first glimpse of Outland! While you can complete expansion quests and even pick up some powerful new items, any characters you play during the trial can only advance up to one experience point below level 61.

What happens to my characters and items after the 10 free days expire?
Any new draenei or blood elf characters you’ve created will be saved and will be inaccessible until you upgrade to a retail version of The Burning Crusade. Once you’ve upgraded, they will be unlocked just as you left them, and ready for further adventures. All items and gold you gain in Outland during the trial period are yours to keep. Any characters that find themselves still in Outland at the trial expiration will be transported to their bind point in Azeroth. If the character’s bind point was set in Outland, he or she will be transported to one of the default graveyards (Westfall/Barrens).

Can I try out jewelcrafting in the trial edition?
Yes! And you can keep all items and skill advancements made in this profession after the trial expires, on any character that has trained it. Keep in mind that jewelcrafting trainers are all located in the expansion zones, however, so you won’t be able to train new levels or certain recipes unless you get the full version of The Burning Crusade.

Do characters I create during my 10-day free trial count against the character limit?
Yes. These characters will count against your maximum limit of 10 characters per realm and 50 characters per account. If you reach your limit, however, you can delete these characters at any time– even after the trial period has expired.

Can I keep any pets I acquire in the expansion zones?
Yes!
