After its first stop in Frankfurt on the 12th of May,
Upper Deck Entertainment's World of Warcraft TCG Darkmoon Faire continued its tour across Europe, stopping this time in Milan on the week-end of the 15th and 16th of September.
Once again, Blizzard and Upper Deck came together to offer players a vast array of TCG tournaments, in-game events, and a few more surprises…

The Trading Card Game tournaments were well-attended the first day. Pierre Malherbaud, who won the previous tournament finals in Frankfurt, found himself facing off with an opponent he knew well: Florent Jeudo, his training partner! Pierre won his first battle, but unfortunately, his luck didn't last through the tournament. He was finally defeated on the second day by Joel Lunder, from Switzerland, during the quarterfinals.
The finals between the 8 qualified players (out of the 93 candidates at the beginning from all over Europe) was lead by the mastery of the incredible Erik Van De Laan, from the Netherlands. Erik took the championship title after winning in a fierce duel against Alexander Fuchs.
We want to take the opportunity to congratulate all the participants!
Alongside these epic battles, visitors could also cross paths with some distinguished and very special guests during the events. Among them was artist Alex Horley who signed autographs on the game cards he'd designed, along with two original creations drawn specifically for the events in Milan. His fellow artist Flaviano Armentaro was there as well, sketching portraits of the players.
Another guest was none other than Ben Brode, Associate Producer at Blizzard. In addition to liaising between Upper Deck and Blizzard, showed himself to be an excellent TCG player, proving his prowress during some of the "Gun-slinging" tournaments.
Some really fun in-game contests!
The events set up by the Blizzard European Community Team were very exciting. TCG players were able to have lots of fun participating in various in game events.
A lot of players competed against each other in leveling contests. The two big winners of the week-end, Marco Antonio and Daniele, went back home with a few gifts including a free pre-paid card, and an in-game murloc pet!
On Sunday, the level 1 character race took place. Dozens of gnomes and dwarves ran from their starting point to Ironforge. For the Horde, the orcs and trolls raced to Orgrimmar on fleet feet.
Last, but not least, the most audacious had the chance to join in level 1 duels to show their might and skills against our ferocious Community Team! In high spirits, the valorous winners left the events happy and with several prizes.
Upper Deck Entertainment's World of Warcraft TCG Darkmoon Faire in Milan is now over. We hope to see you at the next one, in London, on the 20th of October!
