Real Life Events

Can you see... the future?
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells...
Grrrrr!
Welcome... to the Faire!
Everyone knows that the Darkmoon Faire stops in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, but did you ever wonder where they go for the other three weeks of every month? Upper Deck Entertainment's World of Warcraft TCG Darkmoon Faire began its real-world tour in Austin, Texas on April 27th and reached Europe (Frankfurt, Germany) on May 12th.

Community Representatives from Blizzard Entertainment were present at the event and offered players the opportunity to try out World of Warcraft and its expansion, The Burning Crusade; participate in different World of Warcraft tournaments, or just have a chat with "the blues." Below you will find some brief coverage of Europe's first Real Life Darkmoon Faire!

The first European Darkmoon Faire was a great success! Over 500 people from 9 different countries attended, and 150 players took part in Europe's first Darkmoon Faire Tournament. Let us tell you, Upper Deck Entertainment put on a great show. Banners were flying; heroes battling; Arena teams fighting - to the death.

In the main event, after two days of playing, the utterly unstoppable force, Pierre Malherbaud, using his feral druid deck, finished his final attack, striking down his opponent and claiming the title "Darkmoon Faire - Frankfurt - Champion." Naturally this leaves us all wondering: Will Pierre be back to defend his title in Milan?

There was also fast-paced action to be witnessed in the Gun-slinging section. In the "Bash Blizzard" section, a Blizzard Europe employee faced 25 challengers over the period of two days, leaving corpses strewn in his wake; barely relenting and with only 4 defeats.

The WoW Arena Tournament!
Sporting two ready-made level 70s, fully equipped with Arena and other PvP gear, 2 vs. 2 teams charged each other in some amazing head-on, gloves-off clashes in the World of Warcraft Arenas.

Using the classic Knock-Out system, after several rounds the last men standing, Team webashor and Team Der Tod kam plötzlich faced off in what can only be described as three hair-raising, sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting rounds. But, although the latter team gave them a serious run for their money, Team webashor’s three consecutive wins were deserved. They are now the proud new owners of one Gurky and a Steelsound 5H v2 headset.
