The Winter Celebration is the ceremony of the The Spirit Wolves, a Tauren tribe, which follows the virtues of Peace and Wisdom. The Spirit Wolf tribe is scattered throughout the world of Azeroth, but the call of great Spirit Wolf, Waluu, will reunite them once more.
One of the main purpose of this celebration is to ceremonially bring the sun back from its long winter slumber, as this is the beginning of another cycle of the Wheel of the Year, which in turn will renew the strength of the tribe in its efforts of purification and cleansing of the corruption that has taken a hold of the world.
In the great Tauren city, Thunder Bluff, at the highest bluff, The Spirit Wolves will gather and begin preparations for the Winter Celebration, which will entail many sorts of events and ceremonies. There will be speeches, story-telling, snow-ball fighting, a reindeer show, cookies, egg nogg and of course snowy paws, snowy paws, snowy all the day!

A Party doesn’t necessarily need a reason behind it, in fact just drinking, eating and having a good time is reason enough. But having an exceptional reason for partying often makes the party a memorable one, be it good or bad. Soon there will be a party... a party with a truly exceptional reason behind it... insulting! Insulting you might think, well that doesn’t exactly sound very fun and party like does it? Well it does if you add Pirate Costumes into the mix!
The Insultin' Pirates Party is all about the drinking, the eating and having a good time, but the true uniqueness of this party is of course the insulting! In this party, there is going to be an epic and very amusing insulting competition, where wit is the deciding factor. The two sharpest minds will clash, engaging in a glorious and hilarious battle, and the greatest most bad-mouthed pirate will be chosen as winner by judges and popular vote of the party people! Rumour has it that the grand prize is "sponsored" by Landro Longshot.
Barmaidens will be there to keep everyone equally happy, free drinks are ensured, food is tasty, events and competitions! What are you waiting for? Come to Booty Bay!

Jackson had just reached the mountain's summit. Cold air flowed, in chilling streams, around his partly covered face. The warm air from his breath manifested itself visibly around his head. Ahead of him, an alliance capital city – filled with people blissfully ignorant of the slaughter about to take place. Behind him, waiting eagerly with their weapons unsheathed and their magics ready, a legion of horde ready to rampage, pillage, and wreck havoc. Preparations were complete and everyone had been informed of the strategy for the onslaught. Jackson cackled gleefully as he ordered the attack call to be made.
In the distance, Potsun heard horns sounding an impending attack. Too late to inform anyone, all Potsun could do was watch as a moving sea of horde charged into the city he knew and loved so much. Would the city be able to defend itself? Potsun asked himself this as he watched the onslaught begin...

“Oh yes, quite divine..” Milandira took another nibble of the slow-roasted honey bread, liberally coated with warm Alterac Swiss. The combination of tastes warmed the inside of her mouth and danced across her palate like a troupe of rowdy gnomes.
The room was packed full of guests, with waiters and waitresses moving nimbly between elbows and gesturing hands to deliver rounds of dainty cheeses, fondues, breads and glasses full to the brim of local and imported vintages.
“You must try this one,” her best friend and close companion insisted, deftly picking two slices of melon off the nearest tray and handing one to her. “Go on, darling, what do you think?”
“Salanu, honestly, I've hardly had time to swallow!” Silks swirled as Milandira brought her glass up to her lips and drained it before eyeing the melon. “This doesn't look like cheese.”
“Finest Stormwind Brie, melted and poured into a groove in the melon. Absolutely delicious, you must try it.”
The melon disappeared between ruby lips and there was silence for a moment before the moan of appreciation.
“Oh my goodness they really have outdone themselves this time. I must compliment the chef.”
Salanu smiled victoriously and raised her own glass in a toast. The two women stood silently for a moment, savouring the tastes as the noise from the crowd around them grew slowly more boisterous.
“Oh my dear, you'll never guess,” Milandira started, a sudden frown on her face. “I had this terrible experience just the other night near Southshore. I was minding my own business, picking flowers, and this terrible orc rogue just came out of nowhere. I didn't stand a chance. It was all over before I could do the slightest thing. Not a thing! Honestly, it's as if..”
“Oh darling, really,” Salanu sighed with disappointment. “How many times do I have to tell you. It's the other kind of wine..”

Silence is taking a hold on the ocean.
All creatures of the sea are on guard or in hiding.
Seaweeds are the only thing to be seen in motion,
pushed gently by the currents of the tiding.
A small object enters the ocean from above,
but it does not sink to the bottom at all.
The object floats lightly as the feathers of a dove,
Luring and teasing and sending its call.
A fish is curious and carefully swims near,
inspecting the object for signs of danger.
The object does not move or show fear,
in fact it behaves like it's not a stranger.
The object is offering an object of peace;
it looks to be food of some kind.
A gesture like this makes all wariness cease,
the fish eats with calmness in mind.
Then suddenly the world turns upside down,
what was north before is now south.
The fish is blinded by bright light all around,
and a sharp pain is stinging its mouth.
It has become hard for the fish to breathe,
and everything is now so awfully dry.
The betraying object has sunk in its teeth,
and all the fish can think of is "why?"
"Ya mon! Dis one be a mighty fat one!",
were the last words the fish did hear.
Those words were spoken by the one who won
the 8th Durotar Feeshing Expoganza this year!

Looking around, Sibu drew in a breath of damp morning air. Looking out over the ocean, the sun was reflecting in the calm waters outside of Stormwind harbour. Above him, seagulls were sailing the morning winds on a lookout for breakfast. Jumping slightly as Kronin approached him silently from behind, tapping his shoulder with leather gloves, "Greetings my friend!" Kronin walked slightly ahead of Sibu and followed his gaze out into the sunrise. "Today will be an eventful day," he said as he turned towards Sibu. Sibu nodded and looked down, pondering what dangerous events would happen on their journey next.
Walking through the streets, Zlak was whistling on a tune that had been stuck in his head for the past few days. "Darn gnomes," he muttered to himself. Always with the catchy tunes. Ahead he could see a warrior and rogue having a conversation by the docks. "Appears they've already arrived," he continued to himself, "I wonder if they're prepared for the evening of festivities before setting sail in the morning." The hunter turned towards his pet – a white cat with fangs no-man would want to be at the receiving end of. Quiche, as the ferocious feline had so ironically been named, toddled alongside her master obediently.
Last to arrive was Cerry. Despite being a shape shifter, her ability to arrive late was unequalled amongst her peers. As she appeared from above and shifted out of her flighty form, Sibu – as always, commented on her tardiness. "Right then," Kronin started... "We're all here. Let us begin preparations for the festivities and events ahead."
---
A few hours later people began to arrive. As the crowds gathered at the various food and drink stands, it was time for speeches and celebrations. Sibu was the first to do so with a speech inspiring many an adventurer gathered.
"Over the past few years... " he said with a loud and raspy voice, "we have fought together, bled together and celebrated great victories together. Today, we stand at a cross roads; many a new adventure lies ahead. We will encounter strange creatures, dangerous challenges and deadly foes. We seek to journey into a strange and foreign land, unknowing of the dangers that lie ahead."
Sibu coughed slightly, then continued: "Many would call it recklessness, many would yet even call it madness. But no, my friends – " Sibu paused for a few moments looking out into the crowd. "This is not madness," he continued, "this – this is destiny. We were born for this, and by the gods and even the lords themselves, this is where we belong. I call out to every man and woman gathered here today; raise your arms and take great pride in your accomplishments when we set out on the journey into the unknown. Take pride in being part of this great alliance! Most of all though, may you all have a safe journey and return with many a tale!"

Storytelling has existed since the dawn of language. Every culture in existence has its stories and legends from the times of old, stories with many purposes like entertainment, education, preservation of culture and identity, and to instill moral principles.
Storytelling has had many forms through time, but it is as important today as it was in ancient times. Those who are gifted with magic of the tale in their voices and minds often become revered and important figures in their society and to bear the title ‘Storyteller' is a great honour.
Not everyone can become a Storyteller, but storytellers can come from everywhere… Often there are those who don't know they are Storytellers, who come from humble origins and therefore only discover their gifts by a twist of fate, and just as often there are those very learned or noble who think they are Storytellers, but find that they don't have the gift.
True Storytellers are chosen by fate and identified by the people, and therefore everyone will have a chance to show if they have the gift. People from near and afar, as well as high and low, will soon gather for a night of Storytelling. Some will be telling and other will listen, but only those who can make the words come alive will be celebrated.

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across the lad running around Stormwind selling a tiny white kitten! I was so very happy to have found it. The child only required a small donation of silver, and soon the kitten belonged to me. I took it out of its cage and gave it loads of hugs, and made sure it was clean and well groomed. Then I wandered around the Trade District looking for a bit of raw meat to feed the poor little animal.
But when I saw a zombie running into the Auction House, I almost jumped out of my skin, and little kitty wasn't particularly impressed either – the poor thing spat and hissed! I realised I had frozen in fear, and I tried very hard to move my legs. They just wouldn't move! I saw everyone around me looked pretty scared too. But it seemed there was some help at hand, a number of other adventurers had started attacking the nasty zombie and soon it was swiftly slain.
But that wasn't the end of it, unfortunately. Soon a whole swarm of zombies ran towards me and kitty! We were both so very scared, I had to try so hard not to drop the poor kitty's cage onto the ground. I tried to hide in a nearby Inn, but it seemed a lot of people – and a lot of zombies – also went in the Inn. There was nothing more I could do, I was only fresh out of Elwynn Forest and not really well prepared for the world and all its nastiness.
I had three zombies biting at me. But there was so many other people about, the zombies soon went on to bite other people instead. I crumpled into a heap on the floor, trying to protect little kitty from the horrible creatures.
In only minutes, I gradually managed to stand up, but I clumsily dropped kitty's cage on the ground. The cage door opened and the tiny kitten ran out and quickly found a small and inconspicuous hiding place. I had such a headache, a constant pain that soon started to spread throughout my entire body. I was also feeling so hungry, so very hungry! I ran out onto the street and rushed about here and there looking for some food,
"Feed me! Feed me your brains!”

No developer interview this time, but Pimp My UI Episode 76 is still definitely worth a read.

Years had passed since the existence of the Lich King became known to the races of Azeroth. The evil that once was good, led down the path of destruction by the lords of the Burning Legion, had begun to get a foothold in the Plaguelands. Necromantic beings, unholy spells and ancient horrors thought long gone have resurfaced as part of the ever-expanding army of the Lich King.
Miyasawa pondered this knowledge, wondering what the future had in store for her. The sounds of battle; clashing of swords and explosions could be heard all around her. When her mind returned from wandering she found herself in the middle of a heated battle between Horde, Alliance and even the Scourge. Her commander, Lord Niisama, had brought her to this place explaining that the Alliance could not be allowed strategic advances in the region.
A journey that she now somewhat regretted taking, seeing as her allies were dying all around her. Seeing the regret in her expression, Lord Niisama's gauntleted hand landed on her shoulder with enough force to get her full attention. "Grow strong and protect your friends, Miya", the rasp of his voice carried over the cacophany of combat around them. At that moment she made her mind up.
She swore to do everything she could to protect her friends and comrades from all harm, be it the plague, the Alliance or even the Scourge.

As if Darkshire wasn't creepy enough! Tonight was Fright Night, and as dwarf priest Kersha Forgehelm set out from Ironforge on the Deeprun Tram, she was already very nervous about the night ahead without having to think about what she would see when she finally got to Darkshire. Upon reaching the Dwarven District of Stormwind, she quickly mounted her trusty Ram and began the ride through to the Valley of Heroes, where she would meet up with her draenei shaman friend Maaira, who was busy learning new skills from shaman trainer Farseer Umbrua.
Once she arrived down near the lake where the shaman trainer usually sat, she soon realised that Maaira was nowhere to be seen. Even the Farseer hadn't seen her! Kersha, who was already nervous, was now moving closer to actual worry – where could Maiira be? Without any hint of a clue to help her, she decided to continue on to Goldshire and then through to Darkshire as previously planned.
Suddenly as she left the gates of Stormwind, the sky broke out into hard hitting rain which quickly soaked through Kersha's thin cloth robe. Even her Ram was soon soaked and sopping wet. But they continued on regardless, though it seemed now even the elements were working against their progress.
Goldshire was deserted; not one person could be seen. Kersha looked inside the tavern but nobody was there. A shiver jolted down her spine, making her jump in shock. Onwards to Darkshire!
Crossing the river, the rain started to clear but soon she was surrounded by the creepy greyness which seemed to permeate throughout all of Duskwood. Almost everywhere she turned she was confronted by a nasty spider or rabid wolf – what a nasty place this was! But at least it wasn't raining – small mercies!
Finally she arrived in Darkshire, and already she could see a sizeable group of people gathered in the town square – including Jetti from the Gnomish Rescue Squad and Toccy, who both ran the Purple Hat Tours. And there, just behind them, was sitting her friend Maaira. "Where were you? I came to Farseer Umbrua but you weren't there!" she asked.
"Oh silly, we were going to meet there tomorrow. I said let's meet in Darkshire, d'oh!"

"Bllllllgrrllg! Letschhh Scheee here!" Mirelle was slurring heavily from her previous activities at the tavern. To everyone around, this was just another normal day at the House of Mojo. Around her there were people of all the Horde's races, gathered at the local "waterhole" to exchange conversations after the long hot day.
On the wall beside Mirelle was a poster. After a couple of minutes of closer inspection, Mirelle came to the conclusion that the poster was mentioning something about a special Brewfest event. Delicious, delicious brew, Mirelle thought to herself before quickly forgetting what she had been doing. "Glurg, glurg, glurg," she breathed out in delight after finishing off yet another drink.
Then her attention shifted again, back to the poster and its contents as she read it out loud this time:
"Welschcome one and alllshh... To the internaschional housche of mojo's brewfest event. Bring your friendschh and family for an evening of fun and drinkschh..."

With her giant pink puffy pigtails all spruced up and ready to go, gnome mage Minimo appeared from out of the blue at Anvilmar in the icy Coldridge Valley. Shortly afterwards she was joined by some of her gnomish friends, the rogue Littlestab and warlock Yougnome. The three friends looked at each other excitedly, and then started bouncing around in anticipation. Before long, even more gnomes started to appear around them. Soon there were ten, then after that thirty... shortly there were so many gnomes about, it was impossible to count them all!
Suddenly there was a commotion along the road, and in rode three level 70 mages: a female human, a male gnome, and a female draenei. The three mages quickly dismounted and soon they started inviting all the little level one gnomes to join them in a group. It wasn't long before they began creating a series of magical portals. But where did the portals go, and what was this three hundred strong army of level 1 gnomes going to do?

It had been a long and strenuous battle. Finally the gathering of trolls and their allies stood before the sacred temple inside Zul’Gurub. Behind them, a trail of blood and destruction could be seen. What had taken place this day was nothing less than the total annihilation of all of Zul’Gurub’s inhabitants and creatures. Not one heathen had been spared, and not one chest had been left unlooted. In front of them, however, was no mere mortal creature, no zealous fanatic. Before them was nothing less than a god. Hakkar the Soulflayer; A name that had struck fear and terror into many a brave soldier for centuries; nay – millennia prior. Believed by the Dwarves to be the son of an elder god; or perhaps even an elder god himself, Hakkar was not a creature to be underestimated.
Nanoux turned to face Khalam. One could see by the way he held his daggers that he was prepared for whatever the god would throw his way. His face, covered in the blood of zealots and beasts, his daggers sharper than any armor could protect against; magically enhanced by Nanoux’s skilled craftsmanship. Nanoux took a piece of cloth and wiped his forehead; smiling warmly as she asked one last time if he was prepared to follow her into what could be their undoing.
Khalam, a Sin’Dorei of few words, simply nodded. As Nanoux bent forward to give Khalam a kiss, a loud noise was heard from the temple. Nanoux and Khalam both felt a chill run down their spines. They heard then, like a thousand needles in their hearts, a voice so evil and so savage that even the ground itself shrieked with every word spoken:
“Come then young ones; Come face the wrath of a god. Today will be the day of your undoing. Face me and perish… foolish mortals!”

Sated from her long nap, Marynja stretched her arms out and yawned the biggest yawn she had yawned for a very long time. It felt much better after that! She rubbed her eyes, and looked out across the Dead Scar only meters away.
Ghouls and ghosts were busying themselves, rushing to and fro as though they all had their own places to go and things to do. But this was just an illusion. They moved without rhyme or reason, devoid of any goal other than to attack the living. Marynja knew to be careful while crossing over to the other side. She had seen what happened to those who were less careful. She had seen it and now wished she had not, for the memories did not fade.
She stealthily crossed the Scar and was soon safely on the other side. "It's easy, now!" she exclaimed. Easy now, yeah; but once it hadn't been. And the road ahead was definitely not going to be easy. For now Marynja needed to cross through the Ghostlands and reach the village outside Zul'Aman. How she was going to do that, she had no idea. She could only hope that if she stuck to the road she would be fine.
But then a strange sensation took hold of her. It felt dark, it had a tinge of evil... but just a bit. The shadowy feeling was pulling her away. The plants and creatures near her started to fade away. Everything was slowly fading away to grey. And as soon as it had done, it started fading back in again. But everything was different. She was now in a troll village, and looking around she soon realised she was exactly where she wanted to be. Now she was here with her friends, the ritual could proceed.

Murik looked around. The forest of Ashenvale was quiet…. Almost too quiet. His instincts were usually correct, and this time something was nagging on him. Something was telling him that a storm was about to break out. A clash of armies, magic and steel. This could only mean one thing... blood will be spilled and blood will be repaid with blood. As sure as the fact that power draws power, Murik contemplated what his role were to be.
On the other side of the forest, Anatalja was hunting wolves. Their tails, as usual, were highly regarded and would result in some good coin. Whistling as she skinned the furry beasts, she considered herself well on her way to be a master trader. Suddenly, appearing as if almost an apparition, an undead appeared behind her. With a swift strike, Anatalja found herself garroted and bleeding to death. Turning frantically around her to see where her assailant had gone, the reanimated dead was nowhere to be seen.
With her last breath of air she drew in the cold damp air of the forest, hearing only barely the horns of war being sounded. Quiet… so quiet…. Her heart finally beat it's last beat.
In the path of war… even the most innocent souls are entangled in the intricate web of fate.
Murik had come to a decision. He would fight, calling upon his friends and allies to prepare. Once a quiet warrior, he now yelled at the top of his lungs:

July |
Nobody could say exactly how many thousands of gnomes and dwarves had run past the Iceflow Lake in Dun Morogh, without seeing a hint or sign of the amazing and ancient secret that lay beneath the semi-frozen surface. No, not another underwater copper node. Not another weary leper gnome who wandered a little too far from Gnomeregan. No this was something that at first seemed so benign and uninteresting, but after further inspection turned out to be truly amazing!
After gathering at Brewnall Village, a group of fishermen found in the lake something slightly more intriguing and certainly a lot older than the usual fish they came to catch. While clearing the ice-covered surface away with their picks, so they could get enough space to fish in, they hit upon something harder than they'd expected to. It was a tiny shard of stone, that would have seemed otherwise uninteresting. Except it seems it was a smaller part of a much greater piece of stone: a tablet, an ancient stone tablet dating from long, long ago when the titans still ruled and walked the lands.
Now the call is out for able bodied men and women, to come join in a great excavation to discover what more lies beneath, in this apparently important historical site. Grab your picks, shovels and if you have one, a gnomish diving helmet!

"I have found it! I have found my mojo!" Anagram shouted across the marble covered hallways of the Lordaeron ruins. "My Mojo!"
"What in the name of... are you talking about?" Tagerutiger looked up with clearly visible confusion. "It's the house," Anagram continued, "the international house of mojo! They're opening their doors on the first of August!" Tagerutiger laughed, "And you think that will give you your mojo back?" Anagram nodded ecstatically.
After reading the paper pamphlet that Anagram handed him, Tagerutiger hummed and nodded. "Yes, I think this will be an event worth attending," he said at last. "What preperations do we need to make?" Anagram shook his head, obviously thinking about something. "We... we have to spread the word to all our friends. From Kosha to Fornimu to Menarog. We will be the merry band of mass mojo!" Tagerutiger laughed. "Merry band indeed!" he said and got up.
"It is settled then. I will send a message to each of them, for in just over a week - we celebrate!"
Little did they know that Adnaw, the proprietor of the IHOM, had already contacted their friends who were already preparing for fun times.

"Death and Destruction, Suffering and Pain!"
This was the message the deceased scout had retrieved. The skies above Nethergarde Keep were as usual, but one could feel a certain new evil brewing. Something was coming, fast and hard. Words of warning had been given. In the final seconds before the scout had shriveled up as his life force was drained away by powerful fel magic he had warned us. At first, as a mere spectator, I looked around, then handed the tattered note back to the guard whom had shown it to me. Around me, a crowd had gathered, looking at me with pleading eyes. “What will you do now, warrior?”
I saddled my horse as I pondered this question. The crowd still looking towards me with hope – nay, perhaps an imminent sense of desperation. As I sat down in ole’ Betsy’s saddle I turned towards the crowd. Thinking for just a moment, I proceeded to speak in a loud and clear voice:
"People of Nethergarde. Friends, allies, foes. Even farmers, workers and soldiers -"
“Hear my call.”
“This day marks a change in your world. A change not only of heart and mind, but of action and hope. Promise – of a bright light on the horizon. I will ride; To Stormwind, to Ironforge, heck even as far as Darnassus. I will unite fighters, sorcerers and holy men from all of the alliances races – elves, gnomes, dwarves and humans. Heck, with some luck we might even gain aid from the draenei. In four days and nights I will return. With me I will bring the bravest fighters, the most powerful magicians and the fiercest assassins these lands will ever see. In four days we fight; Not just for freedom, not just for survival, but for the very hope of a brighter future for our younger ones.”
“Together and united we will stand against the forces of evil and we WILL gain victory. We will vanquish this evil once and for all, or we will die trying. For what better reason than to protect and support the future generations? For what better purpose will you take up your weapons and fight?”
“For the very life of Azeroth herself, we will stand united once more and purge the evil from these lands.”
“Fear not, my friends – for I am Magrana – mighty warrior of the Kaldorei. In four days I will return…. And in four days….. destiny awaits us!”
Without looking back I charged out of Nethergarde, heading to Stormwind City, where I would begin gathering allies...

"What will you do now, warrior?"
I saddled my horse as I pondered this question. The crowd still looking towards me with hope – nay, perhaps an imminent sense of desperation. As I sat down in ole' Betsy's saddle I turned towards the crowd. Thinking for just a moment, I proceeded to speak in a loud and clear voice:
"People of Nethergarde. Friends, allies, foes. Even farmers, workers and soldiers -"
"Hear my call."
"This day marks a change in your world. In four days we fight; Not just for freedom, not just for survival, but for the very hope of a brighter future for our younger ones."
"Together and united we will stand against the forces of evil and we WILL gain victory. We will vanquish this evil once and for all, or we will die trying. For what better reason than to protect and support the future generations? For what better purpose will you take up your weapons and fight?"
"For the very life of Azeroth herself, we will stand united once more and purge the evil from these lands."
"Fear not, my friends – for I am Magrana – mighty warrior of the Kaldorei. In four days I will return…. And in four days….. destiny awaits us!"
Without looking back I charged out of Nethergarde, heading to Stormwind City, where I would begin gathering allies...

The trolls are slowly but steadily forming a new empire. They are not yet powerful enough to claim their full sovereignty, but soon enough they will be a force to be reckoned with and feared by those who refuse to recognize the glory of the Trolls.
Until that time comes, the troll leaders have decided to seek the aide of allies and treasure hunters, who are not yet aware that they are helping the trolls conquering the world. The trolls are seeking treasure and powerful artifacts to help them reach their goal, and now it is time to reclaim a long lost but powerful charm, crafted by Ula'tek herself. Possessing this charm would secure Ula'teks divine blessing for their purpose and it would grant her favor on them for their upcoming assault on Hakkar.
The artifact is hidden within the ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, whose walls are teaming with deadly insects of all sizes. The ruins must be conquered by all means necessary, no cost is too great because the reward will be greater still.
Are you looking for an opportunity to try a raid in one of the old level 60 raid dungeons on a roleplaying realm? If yes, then look no further, for here is your chance to partake in an in-character raid on Ahn'Qiraj, the home of the Silithid and the enigmatic Qiraji. Have a look here for more details and information about this event
The Schwickster
The mighty Schwick has returned to the forums and as usual he has his finger on the pulse of everything that is World of Warcraft. Schwick is gladly sharing his knowledge about what the future will hold for the game; knowledge which you can find his massive and frequently updated information threads:
The first thread is a compilation of all information about Wrath of the Lich King.
The second thread is a compilation of all information about future patches and beyond.
Schwick has also made a third thread, which is an unofficial WotLK Media Gallery that will be updated on a regular basis.
Time to "Safen up":
The Internet is a hostile place these days and it is therefore important to be careful when venturing about online, even when visiting sites that you would normally trust.
A very helpful player named Pharsalita has written an excellent guide on how to spot a keylogger and staying safe on the forums.
Another player called Dreadblade has also written a safety guide, which is rather short, but still useful if you are a Firefox user.
And just in case you haven't read it yet, here is a very nice thread about how the Blizzard Authenticator works written by Ysgarth.
The forums in all their glory:
Megashira of Hellfire is showing us the importance of tactics, since they alone can make or break a battleground. Good tactics can in many cases ensure victory, even if the odds are stacked against you.
Do you feel like a fresh start? If yes, then it might be a good idea to check out these tips and pointers on the subject of re-rolling.
If you play a hunter, then you should take a look at this thread, which contains answers to all common questions about hunters.
The Penguin King… Do you think he will appear in Northrend?
Remember Thecowking's guide on how to get WoW running under linux? Well here is a similar guide by Dimis on how to get WoW running in Ubuntu. (Please keep in mind that we are unable to offer any Technical Support if you have trouble playing World of Warcraft on a Linux operating system!)
For the roleplayers this week, we have this really neat guide on Criminal Roleplay.
This is perhaps slightly off-topic, but are there any World of Warcraft DJ's out there?

It is as if the fish knows what is going to happen, for stillness is sweeping over the seas and almost all sea creatures seem to have their eyes pointed towards the surface in hope to detect any dangers from above the water. Little to no movement is taking place underneath the water surface, and even the crabs and clams seem to have buried themselves underneath the ocean floor.
Then it happens… An almost inaudible plop, a small object fell into the ocean from above. The object does not sink; it is just floating there without a care in the world. The mysterious object is being carefully monitored, but nothing happens. The object seems harmless, but a closer inspection is needed just to be sure that it is not a threat.
A fish is slowly and cautiously swimming closer to it, but it is at all times ready to swiftly swim away if any danger should reveal itself. On closer inspection the object actually seems friendly; in fact it even seems to be offering food as some sort of peace offering.
The fish starts to nibble at the food with great appreciation of this friendly gesture, but then, all of a sudden, an explosion of movement and a sharp stinging pain in the mouth. The world violently turns upside down and the surface that was above before is now below. The world around is suddenly blindingly bright and awfully dry, and it has also become very hard to breathe. It is all very scary and confusing, and it doesn't help when a booming voice is suddenly yelling with great enthusiasm: "Ya mon! Dis one be a fat one!"
The eyes of the fish has now adjusted to the brightness, but alas to no avail. The last thing it sees before death tightens its grip, is a big sign that says 7th Durotar Feeshing Expoganza.

From all the great alliance cities of Azeroth, and indeed beyond, a call was sent out to all strong and brave Alliance heroes to join together in the great Military Council of Azeroth. But no, not just anyone can attend. You must be brave, you must be strong, you must be mighty and you must be able to pass close scrutiny or else you cannot join this great council.
No, you cannot come join the council if you're known for your dastardly criminal deeds! You must be loyal, you must be valorous, and you must be honourable. Sunday was always such a good day to stroll leisurely through the bogs and hillocks of Dustwallow, whilst breathing in the rich musky air, or to skip merrily down the beaches north of Theramore, as the salty spray splashed up on the shore.
The Murloc appeared to grimace, but he was smiling in appreciation of the simple pleasures of life in the marsh. Though at times Dustwallow seemed creepy, brimming with all sorts of ghastly beasts and creepy crawlies, the marsh was certainly not without places of peace and niches of natural beauty. It certainly was a joyous day to walk through his home neighbourhood, experiencing all that the morning sun had revealed today.
But then, a noise: a pop much louder than any tidal foam! A firework! And then another! Something big was kicking off in Theramore -- the Alliance was having fantastic party!
He scowled, and gargled; he loved firework parties, but not when they risked his life to attend! But in the end the amazingly colourful and noisy things they did with gunpowder were much too exciting for him to miss! He dropped his driftwood walking stick and ran with glee towards the stone walls of Theramore – whatever it took; he would not be missing out today!
He got as close as he could without being noticed, and found he could see quite a lot from his hidden vantage point. Not just a firework party, the folk of the Blue Order had amassed a wondrous Spring Market, stocked with the finest goods they could both gather and produce. Even better, Taarhal Shas'stan was attending, and giving a great speech on the use of animals in battle.
Then he spotted them: barrels upon barrels of fireworks of all shapes, colours and sizes! The Blue Order had carefully planned this great event to end with a spectacular display of colour and sound. The Murloc sat down, cross-legged, and made sure his view of the sky was not in the slightest bit obscured. He waited patiently, brimming with anticipation and excitement
for the night ahead!

In Stormwind, the child king was furious. Yelling and screaming was heard throughout the castle, echoing off of the polished marble hallways which it was made of. If one listened carefully, one could also hear the calm yet obviously annoyed Bolvar Fordragon respond to the king. Longing for the days of the battlefield rather than the task of babysitting the child king, Bolvar was arguing with the king about something as trivial as the material of which the king's seat cover was made of. Bolvar sighed and asked for which reason the gift from King Magni Bronzebear was not sufficient.
Arduin cried out, "IT SMELLS FOUL, IT SMELLS OF MOUNTAIN RAMS!"
He then added, "I want a tiger skin. A real tiger skin -- like the ones we see in the magazine Pimp my Steed!" The king's posture was now reduced to that of a sniveling brat.
Bolvar attempted to reason with the King one last time, but his patience had run out, and the King responded to his reasoning with a threat which he could not allow to happen: "If you don't get me a Tigerskin I will tell Magni's daughter that her bum is fat!" Bolvar had lost this verbal confrontation, much because his patience was running thin but also because he did not want to deal with the consequences of insulting the heiress of the dwarven empire.
He retreated from the throne room and met up with his reliable captains of the guard. "Captains!" he paused for a second while letting out an audible sigh. "The King requests tiger skins for his seat cover. Send at once some of your finest warriors to the lands of Stranglethorn where they will speak with the legendary hunter; Nessingwary. He will tell you all that you need to know for this mission."
Meanwhile, on the other side of Azeroth, the Warchief in Orgrimmar was having some troubles of his own. Bested by the one Orc who dared command the Warchief directly -- his wife -- Thrall was stuck listening to the inane ramblings of a"high class woman". "Our curtains in the bathroom," she said "they need replacing. Have some of those little minions of yours fetch me some tiger skins." She continued: "I will use this skin to make new ones which will surely impress our guests. Having bathroom curtains befitting of the Warchief's wife is not too much to ask, now is it dear?" She turned to Thrall who had long since learned that arguing with his wife on homely matters such as this one was futile.
"Yes dear," he replied. It was easier this way. No nagging, no bickering and most importantly -- no cold shoulder that night.
Thrall climbed down off the catapult he had been admiring and working on for the past few hours. Of all his obedient servants, he revered one particularly -- the one named Rexxar. He summoned Rexxar to his presence and asked of him to send his hunters to Stranglethorn. Thrall went on to say that he seemed to recall a master hunter in the land of raptors and feline beasts named Nesingwary. "Seek this hunter out," he commanded. "He will tell you where you may obtain the tiger skins for my wife. Now go, go at once."
The dice were thrown as if by fate itself. With the two enemies both heading to the same camp to obtain the same material, the outcome was easily predictable. To a certain degree, that is. Which side would have the upper hand at the end of it all? Find out for yourself by lending your strength to either the Human King or the Orc Warchief.

Only the bravest and most capable hunters can bring down this prey, for it is both large and strong -- not to mention swift and ferocious... and deadliest of all; it is extremely cunning and shrewd!
The prey is, of course, dragons: creatures of infinite beauty and deadliness. Many hunters have lost their lives and limbs in foolish attempts at slaying these beasts. Yet this has not discouraged the hunt, for many covet the glorious trophy and prestige that comes with slaying a dragon.
Dragons are mostly solitary creatures, both rare and elusive. They prefer distant and wild territories and they rarely venture into populated areas. It can take many months to find this prey.
It is known that a large dragon has settled in the distant Hinterlands and perhaps it is not alone. An expedition will soon venture out to hunt this dragon, but many brave adventurers and hunters are needed if success is to be achieved. You are hereby invited to join this hunt and to share the glory and riches that will come with the kill, but know this; if you are not up to the task at hand, the dragon's maw will claim your life!

I found myself walking through the streets of Orgrimmar on this unusually hot day. Everywhere around me was life and laughter, fun and even a few drunks in the alleyways. I could hear the brutish orcs yell at full voice, all the way from across the city in the Battlemaster area. Today, however, was not one I had planned to spend fighting or sparring with my friends and companions.
The auction house was packed as usual; full of trinkets, rings, cloth and other junk that people found valuable. Outside, the many traders could be heard advertising for their wares. “[Dirge]! [Dirge]! Who wants to buy my [Dirge]?” – A whimpering young troll was trying to gain a few coins. I shook my head and thought “What on earth will they think of next?”.
“The most beautiful and se…grrrmplhhhhh”, a badly dressed advertiser was quickly muzzled and towed away by the city guards; this Tauren had been reported wanted to the authorities.
“Oh, that!” I grinned gleefully as I made my way towards the bank.
Just then I noticed an unfamiliar text pinned to the wood above the mailbox.
Big food fun Ball Feast!
Adnaw wo'mon be old, one year be my day!
Come fun celebrate! Be dressed like sea hu'mon!
On Sea Hu'mon Ship next to Ratchet
Day 3 of May at hour 20!
Bring Stuff!
“Fantastic!” I thought to myself - “I have a party to attend to next Saturday!”. I quickly wrote up some letters and used the mailbox by the bank to alert some friends. “What is a party without people?”. I sent about a dozen copies of the invitation out; letting my friends know what was up and to spread the word. I mumbled to myself “Great! Perhaps even a few good looking honeys will come too!” as I lost myself to daydreaming…
The Birthday Party will be a night to remember.

"What?!? - an expedition from our elven friends of Quel'Danas has been savagely slaughtered by the dwarves of Dun Garok?" Word spread swiftly to all the dark corners in the Undercity. Soon enough, it had even reached the ears of Lady Sylvanas. The Banshee queen was furious - perhaps urgent news and updates from Quel'Danas had been lost. Only one thing could be done now; Blood must be answered with blood.
The drums of war were heard as the Banshee Queen announced the charge on Dun Garok. Revenge on Ironhill; Revenge on the dwarves.
As the dwarves of Dun Garok received confirmation of the Forsaken and their assault plans, they sought desperately for the assistance of their kin and human allies. Alas, their pleas for help fell on deaf ears; The Humans and Dwarfs claimed that Captain Ironhill and his men had brought this damnation on themselves. Nobody would send help, nobody - but one.
Captain Ironhill received word that his friend from old, Gribbly Tykalbolt was gathering forces and marching to his assistance. Surely, he thought, this would put an end to the undead and their allies once and for all. Perhaps this battle would even become one of the largest that Hillsbrad had ever seen. Ironhill prepared his squad of riflemen and put out the drinks and feast in anticipation; His friends and allies were sure to be greeted warmly.
Now, only two days remain before the Forsaken and their friends were to reach the lands of Hillsbrad; both the alliance and horde prepare for battle. Come one, come all; Lay waste to your enemies and bask in the glory that is victory on the battlefield!

This weekend an event will take place that is very important for the tribes of the Horde.
In order to prepare for spring and to scare away the evil spirits of winter, the witchdoctors will perform a ritual that will bring good fortune for the hunters and bountiful harvest for the farmers. Spring must be welcomed properly if the coming seasons are to be kind.
The night of the Harvest Song is an ancient tradition amongst the tribes of the Horde. It is a night that everybody looks forward to with great anticipation, for it is a night of masks, bonfires, song and stories, where all are invited.
The evil spirits are weak now that the winter has passed, yet they can still cause great trouble if they are not scared away. The best way to ward off the evil spirits is to laugh at them, and on this night, revelling and merrymaking will certainly frighten away the cold.
Come ready to whoop, dance, drink and scare the bad spirits away.

Soon there will be a gathering of representatives from all the major faiths of the Alliance. The Alliance is surrounded by evil forces from all directions, and the fragile cease-fire with the Horde may break at any time. If the Alliance is to have any real chance of withstanding these threats, it is important that there are no internal conflicts.
The best way to prevent internal conflict from happening is to increase understanding and respect for one another. This is a wisdom that has been acknowledged by the spiritual leaders of all the major faiths, and as such they will attempt to enlighten each other and the general populace by sharing their teachings.
The Holy Light, Elune, Druidism and Shamanism will be as one for a single day in an attempt to reach a consensus on important questions and topics such as the compatibility of the major faiths of the Alliance, the things that members of each faith are striving to achieve, the little insignificant differences that often leads to hostility, the things that define who we are and who we are trying to become.
Anyone who thinks they have knowledge on these matters is free

A young warrior arrives in Sen'jin village to see a large group gathered there too. As he approaches he hears the end of a speech being given by a troll standing in front of the crowd:
"..you are not your weapon. You are not how much money you have in the bank. Here is where you will prove yourself. Let the brawl begin!"
The crowd applaud and cheer and begin to disperse. There are names being taken and bets being placed all around and the young warrior moves around watching gleefully as various match-ups come together in a bloody-fisted clash.
Unable to restrain himself any longer, he approaches one of the organizers:
"I want to fight."
"No weapons allowed. Still want to fight?" the orc replies.
The warrior nods and his name is added to the list.

Friends! Allies! Enemies and foes! Pick up your weapons, sharpen your swords and clear your magical minds. The war that was once deeply engraved in everyone's bones is about to begin anew. The forsaken of the Undercity and the gnomes and dwarves of Ironforge are about to stand face to face, once again, in the heat of battle, marching upon the strongholds and cities of their foes.
The steadfast dwarves and tinkering gnomes are leading the crusade on the side of the Alliance, with the intention of driving the forsaken out of the Eastern Kingdoms before bravely laying siege to the orc stronghold itself; Orgrimmar. The news of the possibility of a final charge on the Horde has spread to houses and taverns across the lands and preparation can be seen in every village and city in the surrounding areas.
However, news of the planned assault has not gone unnoticed by the forsaken. Aware of the impending threat, they have rallied their own crusade, recruiting help from their allies in the west and planning their own charge on the dwarven city of Ironforge. Echoes can be heard in the halls of the Undercity; "Death to the Brozebeards! Death to King Magni!"

Just as the conflict is nearing an end, the battle for Duskwood begins yet again. The previous battle for Duskwood has been removed from the filaments of time and because of this it is forced to happen again.
The orcs of Durotar have been granted another chance to spill human blood at Raven Hill and so they will march upon Duskwood yet again. The orcs will gather their forces outside of Orgrimmar and as soon as a green skinned army of sufficient numbers has amassed, the fate of the humans is sealed and the march begins. The humans will be crushed and the orcs shall triumph!
The humans of Stormwind have no intentions of yielding to the orc invasion. They are fully aware of the orcs' battleplans and the orc forces will be met on the battlefield. The human defenses are being built with great efficiency and they will be a nigh impossible challenge for the orcs to overcome. The humans shall win this day and many songs will be sung about the defeat of the orcs!
The Battle of Duskwood is a battle for the strategic point of Raven Hill. The orcs will attack and the humans will defend. Let the battle begin!

Roleplay within roleplay; when an imaginary person pretends to be someone else!
This is exactly what will happen on the realm of Argent Dawn at this grand event.
Comparable to a classic costume ball, in this case 'improvised theatre' might be a more accurate description. Everyone who participates is expected to pose as an imaginary persona that they must impersonate during the evening.
It does not matter whether you would like to arrive as a king, a peddlefeet, a murloc ambassador, but it is important that you think up a tiny background story for the portrayed persona to make the event more immersive. Please keep in mind that presenting yourself as a person that truly exists is not allowed. For example, you are forbidden to claim yourself to be Archmage Jaina Proudmoore of Theramore.
It is encouraged to intermingle with others to combine the backgrounds of several personas. You could very well arrive as a pack of funny pirates with your friends, or play a royal family hailing from a kingdom called Far Far Away. This is a grand chance to shine and become known amongst the peoples of Azeroth!
Your wildest dreams await.

A battle much like the ones that was seen in the First War will soon take place. The orcs of Durotar have rebelled and decided to break the fragile cease-fire between the Horde and the Alliance. The orcs will gather in masses in the Valley of Trials, and as soon as their numbers are sufficient, they will begin the march towards Duskwood.
The humans of Stormwind have received intelligence of this orc rebellion and are quickly raising an army to deal with the threat. The mainstay of the Stormwind army is currently away on other duties, but the humans are aware that the bulk of this orc rebellion consists of inexperienced warriors that should be easily pushed back by the remaining city guardsmen, rookie soldiers and conscripted peasants.
The Battle of Duskwood is a battle for the strategic point of Raven Hill. The orcs will attack and the humans will defend. Let the battle begin!

The sounds of battle all around filled the air. The young human looked to his right at his gnome and dwarf companions as the three of them lay hidden behind a small rock cluster. He nodded at them and they nodded back; they were ready.
Clutching his sword tightly he took a deep breath. This was it: now or never; do or die. He signaled to his allies and the trio jumped out from their hiding spot and ran swiftly, but silently, across the battlefield, dodging tauren axes and orc arrows.
The horde were too busy engaging their own opponents to pay much attention to the three who now ran through and beyond their defensive line. The target was in sight just up the ridge; all they had to do was capture it and find another way off the hill.
There was a sudden but short squeal from the gnome and the human turned to find her lying dead a few feet behind; there was no sign of her assailant. As he scanned the area looking for enemies he realized that the dwarf was nowhere to be seen.
As he was about to call out to the dwarf he felt a sharp pain in his kidney and keeled over only to have what felt like a thousand daggers thrust into his body at once. As he fell to the ground with the sound of forsaken laughter ringing in his ears, he looked up the ridge…
"I'll get you next time, Ogre." He swore as he released his spirit to the local graveyard. The ogre seemed unconcerned and continued to dance
atop his hill in the Burning Steppes.

January |
The land is trembling as the armies approach the battlefield. The heavy march shakes the ground and fills the air with dust. Wildlife is fleeing in terror and scavengers are waiting patiently for the impending feast... War is coming.
The armies are within each other's reach, but they do not attack… not yet!
There is silence now. A silence so intense, that even the winds have stopped blowing in anticipation. Nothing can be heard except for the occasional screeches of vultures flying above and the snarls of the starving scavengers at the edge of the battlefield.
And then the silence comes to an end: CHAAAAAARRRGGEE!!!! The booming voices of commanders yelling their orders and the battlecries of thousands of warriors can be heard miles away.
Thousands of swords and shields clashes against each other and within seconds the first casualties of war fall to the ground. Fierce combat on a massive scale rarely seen before is taking place and although all seems chaotic, there is no fear to be found, for determination and discipline is what will win this war.
Warriors are flexing their muscles and swinging their weapons in a deadly choreography. Archers are swiftly and efficiently taking down one enemy at a time from a far, magicians are flinging their deadly magic and chanting their spells and the healers are extending the lives of those still fighting.
Heroes will determine the outcome of this war. Perhaps it will even be you, a glorious hero, who will be the bringer of Victory?

But all is not lost, for Krustovja of Darkmoon Faire has taken the initiative to continue the Weekly Suggestions threads and the first one can be found right here.

An eerie stillness crept over the land. The local wildlife seemed to be in hiding, a sense of impending doom hanging in the air above them. The water of the Great Sea eased passed the Echo Isles and gently lapped against the shores of Durotar.
With an almost inaudible plop, a small object fell into the ocean. A length of string was attached to the object which now sat, floating without a care, upon the gently cresting waves. At the other end of the string stood a Troll, grasping his fishing pole with expert grace.
The world seemed far away from him at that point; all that existed was him and his fishing pole. Perfect bliss. As the calmness reached a point which threatened to send the Troll to sleep, there was a sudden splash, and a tug on the string alerted him to the presence of another life form! With skill and precision he reeled in her tackle and dropped the Raw Brilliant Smallfish into his sack.
Snapped back to reality, the hustle and bustle sounds of ongoing life filled the air. Looking around, the troll spotted a few others reeling in similar fish of their own. He knew that he would have to work hard to win this; but then, wasn't that why he had signed up for this Expoganza?

Here is a video showing the Mage's point of view

A bear on a rampage is a dangerous thing, a few bears on a rampage are deadly and devastating, but hundreds of bears on a rampage are a major catastrophe… and there are simply no words to describe how terrible it is when hundreds of dancing party bears go raiding!
Soon bears from all over will take the world by surprise. Nobody expects to be invaded by bears, and especially not by dancing party bears!
The plan is as follows:
Horde Druids experienced enough to have learned the lessons of the great Bear Spirit will gather in Orgrimmar. When enough bears are present the pre-party will begin. Party tricks and dance moves will be trained so that the upcoming carnage will be as hilarious as it is devastating. Later on the bears will form a raid and party all the way to Stormwind, where the Alliance will learn the true meaning of party crashing.
The gates of Stormwind will fall to the pressure of hundreds of furry paws, and the city will tremble and smoulder from the masses of party-crazed bears. The party will take a life of its own until Stormwind has burned out and there is nothing left but ruins and party trash.
Hi, I'm a Bear and I like to party! What's your game?

Schwick's Corner:
Warcraft Weekly has seen the light of day 124 times now, which is funny when you think about it, because 124 is the sum of eight consecutive prime numbers (5 + 7 + 11 + 13 + 17 + 19 + 23 + 29)
Schwick has updated the Information About 2.4 and beyond thread and the Information About the Expansion thread with new information.

The Swiftheel must be honored, for without him the world would have been a different place.
A marathon will soon take place to commemorate this hero, who was the one who spread the news of the death of Anduin Lothar and the downfall of the Horde. The word of the final victory of the Alliance over the Horde would not have been known in time were it not for him!
The Swiftheel was also known as Edward Smoothe, and he was the last human hunter in the known world. On that fateful day he ran all the way from Stormwind to Lakeshire, from there to Darkshire and Westfall, and then back to Stormwind where he collapsed from exhaustion, having completed his amazing feat. He gave his life for the greater good of the Alliance, and for that we honor him.
Long live Edward Smoothe.
